Confessions of a Rager

So... wow. A lot has happened since we last spoke ;) I've finished school (FORVER - screeeeaaaaming! I now do not have any excuses as to why I slack at blogging), became single and just got back from rage (devil horns face).

Which brings me to my topic - PLETT RAGE.
Confessions of Rager ;)

Day 1:
Lunch time: Arrive
"Arriving Party" at our house - food, drinks, music, people
Midnight: VIP
4.30: Get kicked out of the club when it shuts down (I thought this was rage??)

Day 2:
Wake up at about 1pm (are you serious - usually wake up at maybe 8.30)
Breakfast - rolls, omelettes, 2 min noodles, chips, double vodka redbull
The discovery of "Beach Bar" on central beach
Arive: 10 minutes left to go for the buy 2 get 1 free special - downing competition
Get covered in blue stamps by DJ Moosa whilst attempting to 'own' the dancefloor
Cut my foot open on DJ box whilst dancing and nearly haemorrhage to death (ok I'm kidding but it wasn't pretty)
Get home - eat, pass out, apparently people came over
I'm up, I'm up! Predrink - VIP @ midnight

Me and Kirst - at VIP on first night (blue stamps - faded haha)

In the DJ box with DJ Moosa (Stamp happy the next day)

Day 3 - 7:
See day 2 ;) (with a few variations - don't want to bore you)

OUR PLETT DRESSES :D

So..there's always those stories of people that have been to Plett and their experiences and opinions however I found a few to be HIGHLY different.

Things that people don't tell you:
 - You will prob sleep with your make up on every night (and perhaps your clothes and shoes on some haha)
- This is the most unhealthy week of your life (if you end up drinking a fruit flavoured drink or eating a vegetable flavoured packet of 2 min noodles - that will be the healthiest thing you consume that day)
- VIP is not how I imagined it - call me a snob but when I heard the word 'superclub' I was kinda thinking more along the lines of European state of the art club... so um, VIP - more of a massive warehouse and an outdoor section with marquie (lots of sloppy dressed people and anything goes! Me and my girlfriends still wore dresses and heels every night though - anything goes right?)
- At some stage you will be in the pharmacy trying to stock up (and probably have not realized the prices of meds now days) and you will need at least one, if not all of these things: plasters, painkillers, antibacterial cream, corenza-c, vitamins, enos - yip used them all haha
- NB: Do not go out earlier than midnight! So many people I know ended up leaving the club early to go home cause they were tired?? Come oooon!
- Afternoon sleep (more like 6pm ish) - crucial (you can still manage to sleep in late, party like rockstars all day and prematch/party and go out at night!
- If you are one of those people that dig dancing and are always jamming on the dancefloor - it is insanely hoooot! Like rip my clothes off hot. So hair up + dress is the best choice - but of course still taking beauty ino account

Pic: BEACH BAR!

Anyways, besides getting back hardly being able to walk, a few burns, gash on my ankle, no voice, sick and 2kgs heavier - Plett was INSANE ;)

PS: It has taken me I don't know how long to do this damn post because blogger is like on crack or something. There are random spaces and gaps - yes I am aware. And the writing changed allignment half way through, really?? Anyways whatevs, more pics to come soon ;)

New Hair & Week off

Soo.. I've had a week off because of my hecticly spread out exam time table! Been trying to keep myself super busy although it sometimes problematic! On friday I 'ombréd' my hair! Slightly like dip dye but more subtle.. pretty spontaneous :D The hairdresser had no idea what I was talking about and literally had to explain it to her.. haha! But very happy with the outcome - needed a change :)

On Sat was my sisters 21st... absolutely incredibly! It was at The Reserve in town, drinks and snacks and speeches first - I did a speech!!! Eeep! But I must say I was very impressed with it, pretty hilarious haha ;) Then dinner and dessert and drinks.. lots more.. haha. Everyone looked beautiful, especially my stunning sister and was SO fun - although I overdid the wine a bit and left at like 1 - boo what a loser! haha. But was still insane! (Pics soon!)

I then went shopping the other day and basically cleaned out my bank account (so much for saving!?) But bought some gorgeous items - wripped denim shorts with fades, midrift coral top, black open back dress - you know I can't resist anything open back, AMAZING bikini, 3 pairs of shoes, new tie dye midrift top for gym and then me and my 3 besties got tight yellow body con dresses that we're going to get printed for Plett Rage (devil face. hehe). Very excited!

My new hair! (not the best pic!)

Cappuccinos and chocolate mousse cake with mom :D

Sushi and cocktails at Pepenero with my sis and then Caprice

My new amazing bikini!

Denim shorts - pink and yellow detail!

Coral top + shorts (yes yes - I took a mirror pic)

TOYA DELAZY

Latoya Buthelezi (known as Toya Delazy) is from Durban! Our very own extremely talented South African :D She describes herself as "crazy in that buck sort of way" on her website and states that "No one tells me what I cannot do" - love her crazy and optimistic outlook on life!

Her advice: believe in yourself and no matter who or what happens, trust yourself because if you don’t it’s a windy world out here…talking about windy, the video for Pump It On has blown through like a tornado. I was lucky to work with a director that understood the concept I had for Pump It On and allowed me to add my ideas. Indeed it has been incredible. Bottom line: what has happened only happened because I let my light shine and stopped shrinking. I have also enjoyed responding to the many press interviews and questions of late - some of which make claims that I’m crazy (true story) and are hoping for me not to be in a straight-jacket by the time the album launches since one has to have “crazy talent” (apparently!) to do what I do. I actually felt quite flattered, crazy ol’ thang me!

Aaaah I just love Toya - damn. This is one of my favourite songs and by Toya in fact. Absolutely incredible lyrics!!

Pump It on
Ten toes walked me through some heavy blows I roam, the more I know the
More I grow cause life is beautiful I don't regret this road I've lived to
Know one life, one love, one flow you just gotta know...

You know this life can crush your goals you gotta know you're not alone
It's in your mind you jail your soul fly free and live life

Chorus:
With my head held high I'll buck alone if it breaks my body or breaks my
Bone why live to die when you can live to soar although, some of them will
Love you and some of them wont high and low we all one we're marching on,
We're striving on so come on everybody pump it on!

Pump it on pump it on hey pump it on x 4

I've lived to know that life is just one show as the clouds flow, pumping
High phenomenal be original, don't make it dismal it's just one show, one
Shot one time one blow! You just gotta know

You know this life can crush your goals you gotta know you're not alone
It's in your mind you jail your soul fly free and live life
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/toya_delazy/pump_it_on.html ]

I'm sick of hypocrisies tearing down our families economies and policies
Sh*t hiding behind democracies authorities dressed to please sapping our
Necessities spreading death & disease sent by god, f^% it cause if god is
Water I'm a beach and if he is air I'm the gentle breeze and if he is love
Love love I'm the little beat pumping in your sleeve

You know this life can crush your goals you gotta know you're not alone
It's in your mind you jail your soul fly free and live life

Chorus
With my head held high I'll buck alone if it breaks my body or breaks my
Bone why live to die when you can live to soar although, some of them will
Love you and some of them wont high and low we all one we're marching on,
We're striving on so come on everybody pump it on!

Pump it on pump it on hey pump it on x 4

Cruise Control

This is an article I read on Jennifer Arlow's BlogReally love it and think more people should be exposed - take a read down below and click here for her complete blog: Kiss Catch

You and your man friend have been dating for over nine months. Things are going, let’s say, well. By now, you have argued over certain people, dealt with the deeper trust issues and overcome the petty jealousy. You know what makes them blush, what grates-their-carrot and how they take their coffee. If you sneeze, it means he is probably sick to. Things are comfortable. Very comfortable. Maybe, even too comfortable. After nine months of dating, you might find yourself pregnant, with a “food baby”.

Something happens, without you realizing it. Some of the glitter wears off the relationship. You are annoyed by things that were once so cute. You get irritated and maybe even a little bored. When things are going great, it is easy to just put our relationship into cruise control mode. The fight is gone, the hunt and chase is over. Falling into the sinkhole, also known as the “comfort zone”, can be life threatening for your relationship. Think about it. Getting too comfortable with each other leads to the someone (often us girls) feeling as if we are being taken for granted. Taken for granted means there is some lack of respect and lack of respect then leads to lack of trust. This may seem like a big jump from letting your hair down to hectic trust issues. The truth is, it’s such a sneaky, slow slide down the hole, you don’t even realise how far down you have already gone.

Let’s be real though. It is only human nature, as a relationship develops, to let your hair down a bit, and to let yourself go. Where does it stop though? Many of us who are in serious relationships have gone through this phase or maybe we should admit that we are in this phase right now. We gain a little extra weight, we don’t spend as much time picking out the perfect outfit, we stay in bed all day eating cereal and watching series (for the third weekend in a row) and maybe we even stop shaving ( yes this applies to both men and women alike, if you know what I mean). We lose the desire to look good and keep our person happy. Soon, that magical spark dies out, the relationship seems boring and we don’t know why.

In my opinion, society is the wicked witch in the story. She is trying to brainwash you by saying that the sinkhole is a wonderful new phase in your relationship. Come on, who on earth will believe that your “soon-to-be-dead” relationship is a wonderful thing. Well, to be honest, many of us do. This is because this witch has created many beautiful mantras to justify this kind of behaviour. For example: “Love is not only skin deep”. Basically, they are telling us that we should be so comfortable with each other that we no longer need to do irrational things like going out on dates, dressing up, smelling nice or even try out a new ‘things’ just to impress each other.

Now, I agree that comfort is an important indicator that your relationship actually works. You don’t want to be with someone that makes you edgy and nervous. Feeling safe and comfortable is amazing and it definitely means you have grown into a deeper relationship. I believe that once this phase kicks in, a lot of couples are up for a big challenge. Some couples manage to appreciate the beauty of a mature relationship, and maintain a balance of pleasure, fun and comfort. Others just become lazy, a bit of a fatty and smelly. Taken too far, comfort can actually lead to things going wrong. Too much comfort leads to letting your arm, leg and unmentionable hair run wild and not making an effort to preserve the chemistry that brought you together in the first place.

Let’s face it, you don’t know what you got until it’s gone. We have all experienced that. If you haven’t, well the, that’s great for you. For most of us, we want what we don’t have and then realize (too late) that we actually had the best. It’s as true today as it was when Adam and Eve got kicked out their sweet garden. This is where having a discussion and following up with some actual action makes the complete difference. When someone feels they are going to lose something, they squeeze a little tighter, they hold on just a little bit longer. Get out of bed and do something spontaneous. Go for a walk (some of us should rather run), wash your hair and most importantly, shave. Yes, it does take effort and you actually have to get up off your bum, but that is the only way to keep your relationship exciting. Otherwise, before you know it, that person you are so comfortable with will be looking for other people to bring excitement into their lives again.

Gym - Oh yes, I said it

Evening beautiful people :)
You will be VERY proud to know that I hit the gym today! First bit of exercise in.. I honestly don't remember! Yesterday I had a major feel sorry for myself day and literally sat in my room all day, curtains drawn, door closed, bad weather and did basically nothing. Today I decided to get off my ass and actually do something. Got some studying done with Phil, study-tanned for a while, ate loads of food and then went to gym - 3km run/jog and toning! Anyways, so for this week I have English language and creative writing tomorrow, and then history thurs and drama friday. Going to try get some gyming in.. hopefully I can force myself to go again, and want to go on a detox diet! Yes, I have said that many times but as we know Summer is around the corner and the end of my school carrier and start of my vac in Plett is soon to come! So.. need to take a break with all the junk food :( (haha ironically I am eating a massive bag of sour cats right now) Anyways.. life goes on. Everyone's been quite down lately and stressed out so I guess all you can do is try to remain calm, present and optimistic.

Music Video Shoot - Red Huxley

Today I was in a music video for this South African band - Red Huxley. Met some gorgeous and lovely girls and had such fun. We had to be the band groupies, dressed in old school rock 'n roll outfits whilst sitting at a bar, drinking beer, smoking and waiting for the bands music video to come on the TV. I wore ripped high waisted denim shorts with black crosses on them, a studded belt, black top with slits up arms and down chest and back, and my black combat boots, and my hair was wavy but pretty big and wild. hehe. We met the band which was cool. And yeah, talked nonsense with the girls and had some good laughs :)
