Meet Miss Baker

Meet Aisha Baker.
Bussiness student and Fashion Blogger - and in my opinion Queen of the Turban. I stumbled apon Aisha's LOOKBOOK page a while back which lead me to her blog and I absolutely love her style. She always looks gorgeous and has a very unique flair to her style. I asked her a few questions the other day about fashion and life and here's what she had to say. (see her blog: www.bakedtheblog.com)

How would you describe your style?
I don't think I can? I just dress the way I feel and love manifesting my mood into my look for the day

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?
My shoe collection

How do you manage juggling varsity, blogging, your social life and just keeping it together in general?
I don't really know! Ha ha. I think varsity is a necessity - I know I am required to complete my degree and socialising/blogging is more of a passion - I guess one makes time for ones passions.

What are your goals and dreams for the future?
I would love to work in media and publication and get married at some point. My dream is just to be as happy as I can be taking into account lifes trials and tribulations.

What’s your favourite clothing/shoe/accessories shop?
My favourite clothing store is probably Topshop.
Shoes would probably be Zoom Footwear in South Africa
Accessories - definitely Accessorize!

Who’s your favourite designer and why?
At the moment my favourite designer is Zuhair Murad, and probably will be for a very long time! I love his ability to adorn a garment with everything he can think of while making it look effortless at the same time.

Chanel Nights

So.. I have been sick at home today and most of yesterday felt horrible! Had the worst migraine ever and the doc said i have a virus, plus a mixture of stress and tension. blah :/ Oh well, shit happens. Anyways, unforunately i missed out on the most perfect day ever, lying around in bed all day. SO before I move onto my summer inspired posts, looks and pics, here's a midnight themed post. A bit of grunge, mostly black - Chanel Nights.

This week has been pretty busy and i must say my blogging has been pretty minimal for the past few months (thumbs down). But there are some sick things to come and i need to get my damn camera fixed. growl. So hopefully this weekend i will blog it proper (thumbs up) enjoy the rest of this gorgeous day people. Golden Heights

On Saturday I did a small shoot for Clare Robertson for her photography project for varsity. The heading was high fashion and this is just a preview of whats coming up. We woke super early (after a rough night. grr) and got straight into it, with Cleo Marco (my sister) doing the make up and styling. We shot in the most perfect area.. We shot two outfits - this being the first one. Was so fun!

Photographer - Clare Robertson (clareamor.blogspot.com)
Make up & Styling - Cleo Marco (cleo-queenofthenile.com)
Clothes - My own..

Which brings me to the rest of this post. Here are my new babies from Greece. Gold and Tan Platform Heels from Fullah Sugah by Skondras. I LOVE THEM!

Noir

So just chilling at my desk at the moment, eating popcorn and drinking an amazing smoothie I made myself. Very impressed with my efforts I must admit :) Still have to find an Afrikaans reading piece for school - where on earth does one find that when you do not own an afrikaans magazine and the internet is being pathetically useless?? Then there is my lines for our english 'so called' prepared reading.. did I mention we have to act it out and know our words off by heart - so tell me where the part 'reading' comes into this task. So yeah, have to get that done :/ But.. here are some gorgeous pictures of some masterpieces.

And these Jeffrey Campbell lita inspired platforms below are my next have-to-bye. No seriously I am going to get them soon... SOOOOO EXCITED :)

The Story Behind the Shoe

Did a bit of Summer Clean the other day.. yes, studying does make you slightly crazy or should I say crazier. Threw out tons of clothes and shoes I don't wear, bits of shit lying around my room, etc. There was so much dust from our renovations, I actually dusted and vacuumed my room! Round of aplause please :) Anyways so here are afew of my high shoes (heels, wedges, platforms, etc) And the story behind them..ish.

So these are my black, slightly metalic lace up wedges I bought in Greece in the June/July holidays from Tally Weijl. They were chilling in the shop, and wasn't to sure if I liked them, however my mom was fitting something on so I tried them on out of boredom and what do you know, I fell inlove. I named them Cocos.

Then there my Lolitas. These are my pride and joy, so comfortable and also pretty versatile. They are from Oysho in Greece aswel, they are nice day shoes but can also be worn at night.

I bought these about 3 years ago from Zoom. Black suede ankle boots. Although I have had them for quite a sufficient period of time they are my soft spot. Meet my Isabelinis.

These are from Tally Weijl in Greece, and surprisingly never been worn, besides prancing around my room admiring them. They are my boho meets class, somewhat chunky heels, my Poccos.

I used to be obsessed with these heels, haha. Back in the day of black strappy shoes. They still are pretty decent, from a random sports shop, don't even ask.. The brand is Bronx. My Dolces.

My greyish peep toe wedges from Zoom aswel. Was admiring them for ages and then when they went on sale I bought them haha. My rochas.

These are white, strappy, chunky, frontly platformed, heels. Quite a mouth full :) With a white dress, perfect tan and bronzed skin, they look great - the Godessy look. They are my Sophias.

These cream wedges are from Luella, bought 4 years ago and still wear them!! Now thats a classic find. They look gorgous on and remind me of Marylin Monroe slightly.. hence my Monroes ;)

These are my babies.. comfortable as hell, and stunning on. They`are from H&M in Greece, I bought them last year. They are wedges, with a pink lining which compliments the colour. They are my Anglinas.

Anywyas these are just a few of my shoes I chose just to give you an idea about my shoes.. As you can see I do name them. Yes, I am a shoe whisperer, so I've been told. Haha, it's my obsession. 2 Exams left, end on wednesday, then Casablanca for my sisters birthday and thursday I have a secret surprise for you.. mmm don't even guess ;) Ciao Ax
